Each of these models is tailored to meet different connectivity needs, ensuring you have the best option for your requirements.
For the fastest speeds, we recommend the MOFI6500 with either the RM520 or FN990A40 module. For a cost-effective yet valuable option, consider the MOFI5500-5GXeLTE-EM7411, though please note that this model does not support 5G cellular.
Yes, all our models allow for band locking. Think of 4G/LTE/5G bands like roads leading to the cell phone tower. Some bands are wide, multi-lane highways, while others are narrow, single-lane county roads. However, if everyone is using the highway, it can become congested, and sometimes the smaller roads might offer faster speeds.
There isn’t a single “fastest” band; if there were, all routers would be set to that band. Speed depends on factors such as your distance from the tower, the number of users connected, and the power and speed provided by the network.
The best approach is to scan and test the speeds of the available bands from your provider. You can then lock the router to one or more of the fastest bands while excluding the slower ones. Our models feature a band lock and speed test function under the Mofi Internal Modem settings. This tool scans all available bands and automatically locks onto the fastest one, eliminating the need for manual adjustments.
We offer a 1-year warranty on our routers. If you suspect a problem with your router, please contact us for diagnostics. We can determine if a replacement is needed and arrange a swap if necessary.
Please note that customers are responsible for both-way shipping costs, and we charge a handling fee of $49.99. Often, issues are related to cellular plans rather than the router itself. If you encounter problems, contact us first, as the issue might be resolved by adjusting settings like APN or ISP TTL, which is straightforward to do.
For troubleshooting, try placing the SIM card in a cell phone to verify it works. Common ISP TTL values to test on the router are 64, 65, and 117.
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee for returns. To qualify for a refund, the router, retail box, and all included accessories must be in like-new condition. If the router is scratched or if any accessories or the retail box are missing or damaged, a restocking fee may apply.
To initiate a return, please email us with your order number and the reason for the return. We will provide you with a return label that you must use to send the item back; direct returns without our label are not accepted. The original shipping fee is non-refundable, and there is a return shipping charge of $14.99 for customers in Canada and the United States (excluding Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Alaska). For returns from these locations, the cost is $39.99.
For returns from other countries, please contact us to determine the shipping costs, as they can vary significantly. Once we receive the returned item, processing typically takes 3-5 business days, with the refund appearing on your credit card within 5-7 business days.
Our return policy applies regardless of the reason for the return, including if the item is not functioning properly or if the plan does not work with the router. In such cases, you will be responsible for both shipping costs. If you receive a damaged or defective unit, we can exchange it, but if you choose to return it, you will still be responsible for both-way shipping costs.
We reserve the right to charge a restocking fee if a router is returned after the initial 30-day return period. This policy is in place to prevent abuse, such as ordering multiple units with the intention of returning them. Therefore, only one return per household is allowed within the 30-day period without a restocking charge. If you need to return a router and wish to place another order, please contact us first to discuss the reason for reordering.
If you order two or more routers, the second unit and beyond will incur a minimum restocking fee of 20%. This policy is designed to deter abuse and ensure that customers only order multiple units if they are certain of their purchase.
For a return to be considered in “like-new” condition, the device must be free from scratches, dents, or other damage, and all accessories and packaging must be included.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Our goal is to offer the best prices and service while minimizing fraud and abuse. Thank you for your support.
If you choose a router with the EM7690, EM9191, RM520, or FN990A40 modules, these models support all the necessary bands and should work in your country. However, you need to ensure that your data plan is compatible with a hotspot device. Some plans designed for tablets or cell phones may not work with a router. Make sure to verify compatibility with your service provider. The router itself is unlocked.
No, we do not charge additional fees for support or unlocking features, unlike some other router companies. We believe in providing full support without extra costs.
Our phone support is available 7 days a week for customers in Canada and the USA at 1-888-499-0123. We offer firmware updates and support at no cost, regardless of how old your router is.
Additionally, we provide access to the ACS (Router Online Management) portal at no extra charge, allowing you to manage your router online. Full email support is also available most of the time.
